What is RTC?

RTC (Real Time Clock) is a Gameboy cartridge feature that uses a Real-Time Clock (RTC), a small, battery-powered clock that keeps track of the date and time even when the console is turned off. This hardware feature allows games to include time-based events, such as daily occurrences, recurring days of the week, or changes in in-game environments that are tied to the real-world calendar. Examples of games that use an RTC include Pokémon Gold, Silver, and Crystal.
