Pokémon Ranger: Guardian Signs for the Nintendo DS is the third entry in the Pokémon Ranger series, blending action, exploration, and puzzle-solving with the series’ trademark touchscreen capture mechanics. Set in the tropical Oblivia region, the game casts you as a Pokémon Ranger tasked with protecting the islands from the villainous Pokémon Pinchers, a group intent on exploiting Pokémon for their own gain.

Using the Capture Styler, you befriend Pokémon by drawing loops around them on the touchscreen. These Pokémon assist you with special abilities—called Poké Assists—to clear obstacles, solve environmental challenges, and help during missions. A standout feature of this installment is the introduction of Guardian Signs, magical symbols you draw to summon powerful Legendary Pokémon like Raikou, Entei, and Suicune, each offering unique traversal and combat advantages.

The game also expands on multiplayer with cooperative mission modes, allowing up to four players to team up locally, completing challenges and capturing Pokémon together.
